Small and Large Miracles Never Cease!?!?! The Water Element, Images, Love, Seeds and the best health system ever!

The Divine Loves Us...

Over four years ago, my yahoo email account was severely hacked, the hacker taking my entire address book AWAY and my ability to re-log into this blog.  Well, in anticipation of trying to copy the blogging material (because I could still view it) and begin anew in another blog location, I discovered today, it simply let me log in without a hitch!  So I am so pleased to be picking up where I left off - continuing visual and written threads of interest as they relate to art, healing, and our global transformation.

Today, Sunday February 9th, epitomized for me the depth and richness of a true, good winter day.  Although I was awakened before dawn by a startling dream, I didn't get to my meditation until 2 pm, after having journaled, read some amazing material I seemed to be guided to read, spoken to creative buddies on the phone, done some challenging yoga and straigtening up my space, making my to-do list and so on. 

But once I settled into my sudarshan kriya practice, down I went into the most precious and profound silence in which I could feel the presence of All That Is, understanding why in the 5 Element system, the Water Element reigns!  Despite the city setting, there was quiet all around, snow covering the entire back yard, frozen so hard that the black and white stray cats had no problem walking right across the top.  With the earth frozen so hard below, the air so cold and quiet, the sky blue but softened by a thin haze, I felt an unifying stillness throughout that stretched out across the entire Eastern seaboard and North, out over to the West, and even further South than might usually be expected. Mother Nature, deep, strong, powerful in Her seeming motionlessness, is returning us to the source of life, hibernating, storing and building up power to yield all that is to come in the glorious Wood Element and Spring.  

Dr. Gary Dolowich writes in his fine book Archetypal Acupuncture:  During this period of 'closing and storing,' the resevoirs fill up and the energies are replenished through rest. There is a starkness around us, an impression of 'emphasis' in the natural world, as seen in the bare branches of the trees.  At this time, the life energy is now undergound, with the stillness of winter comes tremendous potential, as the Water element contains the seed for the new birth in the spring. (page 68)

What I felt so privelged with in these precious moments was the clarity in which my mind could either float in the perfect peace or engage in the contemplating of all the factors I felt are afoot: the Year of the Horse, Mercury Retrograde, Winter, the two adjacent planets on the horizon before every sunrise calling to my friend daily,  the hints by another friend reaching new realms in her spritual life (evident with a wide, toothy grin), the peculiar and vivid experience in my dream (being shown an interpretation of what my worldly life is more essentially about), and the new opportunities opening up left and right to fulfill lifelong yearnings.

But interestingly, once my meditation was over and it was time to get going, I placed the palms of my hands over my eyes before opening them and lo and behold!  The slight pressure sparked off a brilliant tourquoise blue field emerging from within a thick black ink border and I began to realize I could paint that by using the Neguri Nuri technique I have been observing at the Alpha Workshops...by layering black over a dark tourquoise over a lighter tourquoise over a brillian white, I could reveal each layer by sanding carefully, revealing various areas of the different colors as guided.

And that wasn't all; suddenly it was obvious white was on my mind...I had originally anticipated painting in red on my existing canvas today, but with this attunement to winter, I now wanted to execute a white on pearlescent sparkling white, somehow creating the sparkle of ice, icicles, pure, clean snow, the light reflecting diamonds...note to self! 

In my peripatetic reading today, I made time to read Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's "Words of Wisdom' for the day on my phone.  Sri Sri was responding to a fellow in an audience who asked him what to do when love is one-sided? Sri Sri replied beautifully, pointing out that if we are one-pointed about loving the Divine, we need not worry about one person loving another more or less than the other.  That in fact, the Universe feels this way all of the time because we are so clueless (my word) to how much the Universe is loving and giving to us all of the time, that it is totally one-sided!  Do you know and feel how much the Universe loves you???  

Sri Sri went on asking the fellow whether he was too enthusiastic, over-whelming the recipient of his love too much, leaving the other person over-whelmed and not knowing how to handle it.  He used the analogy that it is best to keep this seed of love slightly buried, not on the surface where it won't take root, and not buried so deep it has no chance of budding and blooming, but at just the right depth where one will percieve it, not necessarily by too many words, but by one's actions.  

So I wish you peace as Winter continues with its low temperatures and snowy moods, knowing all is well as the planet heals with all of us pulling more for Her proper balance and care.  Let's listen to both Mother Earth's body and ours, outside and inwardly, realizing what Dr. Christine Northrop says: Our body is the best health system we have - if we know how to listen to it.  Ssshhhhh....
